In recent years across the country, groups of Senior Citizens have got together to develop Forums, where they can express and exchange their opinions and have the opportunity to influence decisions that affect their lives on a variety of subjects such as, Health, Pensions, Public Transport, Social Services, Public Safety and Housing .

Why do we need a Senior Citizens' Forum in Thanet?
According to latest figures, 20% of the national population is 55 and over. In Thanet this figure is over 30%, which makes the need for a Forum like this even greater.
Thanet Senior Citizens' Forum will influence the services and facilities provided to older people in the local community and do so in an informed way.
Who can be part of the Forum?
Anyone living in Thanet who is 55 years old or over can participate in the Senior Citizens' Forum. We need people from all backgrounds with a variety of experiences, skills and interests.

As we continue to grow the work load for your officers grows accordingly. We are looking for a volunteer with computer skills to help with some secretarial support. Help with taking minutes, keeping membership records etc., would be gratefully accepted! Please contact us!
